• The Bronze Head of Queen Idia from mediaeval Benin that represents Idia; the mother of Esigie, the Oba of Benin who ruled between 1504 to 1550.

He reestablished the unity and military strength of the Oba kingdom after several battles against opposing forces.

• She was instrumental to her son’s victories as her political counsel together with her magical powers and medicinal knowledge, formed key elements of Esigie’s success on the battlefield.
